As I write this post, I have emotions similar to that of the beginning of a new school year. Hence the title to the first official Trapper Teacher blog, First Day of School. Emotions I am currently feeling but are not limited to; excited, nervous, proud, scared, joy, and surprise but most of all anticipation. I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing people in the field of education and wanted to develop a resource to not only benefit the teachers around the world but their students as well.
Trapper Teacher is the first thing that I have truly seen develop from its inception and that is scary! I have worked on different projects before from the ground up but never fully and truly MY idea. That is where my nervousness comes from. Failure, in any capacity, is a huge fear of mine. I am excited to be able to share the various music, book suggestions, lesson plans, and a variety of resources to benefit our student's learning. On the other hand, the emotion of surprise is still lingering as well. Am I prepared? Will people like it? Will people find it useful? Did I waste my time and energy for no good reason? However, I look back at the things I have accomplished and learned already as a result of creating this website and feel joy. It has helped me to connect with other professionals, receive support from friends and family, and really work to hone two crafts and passions of mine, education and music.
Anticipation is truly the most accurate emotion I am feeling at this time. I am positively looking forward to the launch of the Trapper Teacher website and blog for so many reasons. Trapper Teacher was created for anyone that enjoys music, education, and any collaboration of the two. Most importantly, Trapper Teacher was created to enhance our knowledge while creating the most beneficial and interactive learning environment for the various learners we experience on a daily basis. The students deserve it!
